The Heroes Journey
At CHOICE, we view every learner as a Hero on a transformative journey of growth, discovery, and purpose. This powerful framework is inspired by Joseph Campbell’s “Hero’s Journey”—a narrative arc found in myths and stories across cultures and time. Campbell identified a universal pattern: an ordinary individual who answers a call, faces trials, finds allies, overcomes challenges, and returns transformed. We believe children thrive when they see themselves through this lens—not as passive students, but as active, courageous participants in their own story. By honoring this journey, CHOICE helps young Heroes build resilience, find their unique voice, and recognize that challenges are not obstacles, but essential parts of becoming who they are meant to be. It’s more than an educational model—it’s a call to adventure.
