Session 6, Week 4
As the rain cleared Wednesday afternoon and the heroes came together in their matching shirts, it was hard not to get a little emotional looking at this group of truly incredible heroes. Each one has unique gifts and talents and struggles that are changing the world each day. And then, as they come together with united purpose in their studios and as a school, they are creating community in its truest sense.

The following day, the Fire Studio worked together to create a poem with a specific pattern that described their studio.

Organized Chaos
Green Fire
Energetic, talkative, and crazy
Children of JeMom
Lovers of food, core skills, and playtime
We feel frustration, tired, and excitement
We fear burnt popcorn, bugs, and neighbors
We are conquerors of the Constitution Bee, plays, and entrepreneurship
We want to focus in Core Skills and not fight during Capture the Flag
We are from Utah
Green Fire Studio

The Cool Peoples
Blue Fire
Loud, Responsible, Energetic
Part of a Tribe
Lovers of hard work, field trips, and creativity
We feel frustration, excitement, and disappointment
We fear moolahs, the resolution room, and boredom
We are conquerors of GRIT challenges, badges, and Exhibitions
We want to become Deltas and go to Survival Camp
We are from America
Blue Fire Studio

I think they missed a few of their defining traits, perhaps because they have become 2nd nature to them or don’t recognize their uniqueness or weren’t trying to capture everything about themselves in one poem. But I would add traits such as their ability to communicate in difficult times, giving and receiving feedback, their compassion towards one another, their bravery, their grit and growth mindset, their humor… and the list could go on.

The Spark and DELTA Studios didn’t create poems about themselves so the guides did the best they could to put into words a little bit about their studios as a whole:

The Spark Studio is crazy, creative and adventurous. They love to play and LOVE getting messy even more. They are curious about the world around them and the WHY behind every situation.

The Spark heroes are creative problem solvers, especially when they work as a team. They love paper airplanes, Pokemon and crafting with hot glue guns. The Spark Studio is not afraid to play with worms or try strange new foods.

They laugh. They cry. They dance. They make mistakes and forgive freely.

The DETLA studio lives life! They are ridiculous and silly. They love to laugh and play.

They are willing to participate – even when at first they may not want to. They are brave and step outside their comfort zones regularly.

They are learning to sacrifice and focus. They know how to work hard and their ability to work hard is increasing rapidly.

They help out. They look outside themselves. They are learning to see needs and meet them.

They are stubborn and opinionated. They make mistakes and own them. They are willing to say sorry to each other. They communicate.

They are compassionate.
They can be incredibly respectful and sensitive when the timing calls for it. They are vulnerable.

They are passionate and interesting.

All of them, in every studio…

They are world changers!
